Read

Leviticus 19:33-34

“‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

Reflect

All of us who put our faith in Jesus know what it means to be strangers, aliens, or foreigners. Like the Hebrew people who were once slaves in Egypt - we all at one time were separated from God and were slaves to sin and death. However, Jesus made a way for us to enter into the family of God as beloved Children. Therefore, we must all extend that same invitation to people who are estranged from God.

Who is the foreigner living among you?

How can you treat them like family?

Pray

God, give us hearts to know and care for the stranger, alien, or foreigner among us in the same way you do.
